Stay Connected: Peer Support Program Nurturing Values and Harmony

Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you well. As we prepare for Term 4, we are excited to introduce an enriching opportunity for our students: the Peer Support Program.

We believe that fostering strong connections among students is an essential aspect of their holistic development, and we are thrilled to share the details of this program with you.

Peer Support Program Details:

When: The Peer Support Program will commence in Term 4, running for the first five weeks.

Day and Time: Every Tuesday afternoon, all students will actively participate in Peer Support for 30 minutes each week.

Small Group Dynamics:

Guided by our dedicated Peer Leaders, small groups of 10-12 younger students will engage in a series of structured activities. These Peer Leaders, who exemplify leadership qualities, will facilitate meaningful discussions and activities that encourage collaboration and growth.

Teacher Supervision:

Our dedicated teachers will supervise two Peer Support groups in their respective classrooms. This ensures a nurturing environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and engaging in constructive conversations.

Module Focus: Promoting Harmony and Values:

This year, we are excited to delve into a module called "Promoting Harmony." Aligned with our school's core values, this module will empower students to actively and critically construct shared values, which beautifully aligns with our Mercy Values.

Skills Development: The "Promoting Harmony" module aims to nurture several crucial skills in our students:

Values Clarification: Encouraging students to explore and understand their personal values, while also appreciating the values of others.

Relationship Building: Teaching strategies for building strong, respectful, and empathetic connections with peers.

Assertiveness: Equipping students with the ability to express their thoughts and opinions confidently and respectfully.

Decision Making: Providing tools to make informed and thoughtful decisions that align with their values.

We believe that this module will not only contribute to the personal growth of our students but also help them develop a deeper understanding of the importance of harmony and shared values within a community.

We encourage you to engage with your child about their experiences during the Peer Support sessions. These conversations can provide valuable insights into their personal growth and reflections.

We look forward to a Term 4 filled with meaningful conversations, growth, and strengthened connections among our students. Thank you for your ongoing support in fostering a positive and enriching school environment.
