Freeman

Term 3

Another busy term comes to an end as we look forward to a two-week recharge before tackling Term 4.

I would like to thank the Freeman staff for their hard work in delivering the mentor program and engaging in their role as mentor teachers. They have been pivotal in developing the strong Freeman culture that we have.

I would like to recognise the work of our House Captain, Laura Gray and the House Captains for their development of the Inter-House competition which ran throughout the term. It was great to see the healthy house competition in Mentor groups and is certainly an activity that students look forward to.

We are nearing the end of class time for our Year 12’s and the Freeman House would like to wish our Year 12’s good luck in their upcoming practice exams and VCAA exams. We are looking forward to celebrating with our Year 12’s and recognising their contributions to the culture of the house in the first week of Term 4.

We are also looking forward to welcoming Ms. Pantazopoulos back from leave as she has been missed in the staffroom and in the Freeman 8 mentor group.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the Freeman students, families, and staff during Term 3. We appreciate the support to ensure there is a strong team around the student and I would like to wish everyone a safe and restful holiday break.

Freeman Achievements

At the halfway stage of the term, we asked our mentor teachers to nominate a student in their mentor group who had been demonstrating excellent application to Mentor Group, studies and co-curricular activities. We acknowledged the following students in our House Assembly:

Ellie F, Alanis Y, Riley O, Oscar P, Hunter P, Anna T, Zara P, Kristy G, Kyla I, Ruby Y, Tabitha O, Riley H, Mitchell W, Olivia R, Thomas L and Kynan W

Inter-House Competition

The Freeman House is currently leading the points for the House shield and the Inter-House competition has been another opportunity for the house to assert dominance across the school. We have been the most consistent performing house and we are excited to see the results of the competition, hopefully resulting in an extension of our lead.
