NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION WEEK 2023

Monday 14th August - Sunday 20th August 2023

 

To support our ongoing wellbeing program, students at St Augustine's participated in a number of Bullying Prevention and Anti-Bullying sessions during National Bullying Prevention Week. 

This week was Anti-bullying week. Each level focused on different elements of the theme to further develop their understanding of the topic and how to act, be safe and respond appropriately if ever faced in a situation as such.

 

In Prep the students focused on:

  • Is it bullying?
  • How to be a good friend

In Grade 1 the students focused on:

  • Is it bullying?
  • Be a buddy, not a bully
  • I pledge to be a kind friend

In Grade 2 the students focused on:

  •  Be a buddy, not a bully
  •  What being an upstander looks like in real life
  •  Making a pledge to stop bullying
  •  Identifying what a bully is and what a bully is not

In Grade 3/4 the students focused on:

  • Be a buddy, not a bully
  • The difference between being a bystander and an upstander
  • Strategies to use if you see someone being bullied
  • Where you can go to for help if you are being bullied

In Grade 5/6 the students focused on:

  • Scripture relating to looking after others
  • What does Bullying look like? Including case studies
  • Cyberbullying and how to keep safe online
  • Personal Identity and inclusivity

We encourage all families to continue these conversations at home with your child/ren.

CSEF - Camps, Sports, and Excursions Fund

The Camps, Sports, and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like: school camps or trips, swimming and school-organised sports programs, and outdoor education programs.

Please find the 2023 application form attached. Eligibility Date for concession card holders' CSEF eligibility will be subject to the parent/carer concession card being validated successfully with Centrelink on the first day of either term one (30 January 2023) or term two (24 April 2023).
