What’s Happening in Careers?

Year 10

We missed our last session due to MMD but are looking forward to next week when the boys will start to explore their profiles and industry areas that might suit them.

Lots of opportunities for this group over the holidays! Get in quickly as places are limited.

INTERNATIONAL SPACE CENTRE - SPACE BOOT CAMP

27-29 SEPTEMBER 2023 - REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN!

The University of Western Australia’s International Space Centre (ISC) is holding its next Space Boot Camp during the September school holidays, from 27 to 29 September 2023, and applications are now OPEN.

Space Boot Camp is designed to educate and inspire Year 9 and 10 students to consider prospective careers in space-related industries.

During the 3-day camp (daytime only), students will have the opportunity to:

  • meet space experts who have worked with NASA, ESA, and UWA researchers driving WA’s space frontiers;
  • engage in interactive sessions covering topics including plant biology, law, rocketry and propulsion, engineering, and zero gravity;
  • visit world-leading facilities in WA that are at the forefront of space exploration; and
  • socialise with other students interested in space.

This is a unique, fun experience and places are limited. Our last Space Boot Camp was extremely popular and sold out fast – so don’t let your students miss this opportunity!

The deadline for applications is Monday 4 September 2023.

All applications will be reviewed by the International Space Centre and all applicants will be contacted directly by 8 September.

Participation on the 3-day camp will cost $330.

If you have any queries about Space Boot Camp or would like to know more about the International Space Centre, please do not hesitate to contact us at isc@uwa.edu.au.

Year 11

There is a lot happening at universities at the moment – it’s a great time to attend some sessions and narrow down what you might like to do. Read through the newsletter for all the events!

Year 12

There is a lot happening at universities at the moment – it’s a great time to attend some sessions and narrow down what you might like to do. Read through the newsletter for all of the events!

This information was also sent out to all students and parents.

We have quite a few TISC enquiries at the moment. The boys have been sent information on how to apply and we will work through this in Week 7 if they have not already completed their applications. We will also be looking at scholarship opportunities. The boys have links to find these – have a look with them to see if there is something there for them to apply for. So many scholarships go unclaimed – you have to be in it to win it.
