Year 11 VM

Fairfield Primary School Athletics Carnival

This term, our current crop of Year 11 VM students  will be involved in assisting three Athletics Carnivals in our Primary School cluster; The Fairfield Primary School Athletics Carnival, The Darebin Primary Schools Athletics Carnival and The Northern Zone School Athletics Carnival. These events all require sound knowledge in First Aid management as well as coaching and competition organisation. Students have been working hard in their classes to prepare for these opportunities.

On Wednesday July 26, the VM students attended their first carnival at Collingwood Harriers Athletics track helping the students at Fairfield Primary School participate in their Carnival. The sun was out, there were lots of smiles and the mentoring/coaching role played by our students was outstanding. Our students organised the troops, gave out skill advice and offered lots of encouragement and feedback for improvement. All of this didn't go unnoticed by the Fairfield PS staff and parents who greatly appreciated the diligent approach harnessed by all. We now move to The Darebin Primary School Carnival on August 15 where things get a little more serious. A good springboard for our students to develop their leadership skills a little more.
