Year 7 and 8 Information

In Year 7 the focus is on the student and that the transition from primary to secondary school is successfully achieved in a happy, stress-free environment.  The Year 7 team of teachers work closely with the primary schools and Grade 6 teachers to ensure the transition of students into Year 7 is a smooth and positive experience.  Much care and thought are put into the placement of students in classes.

Year 7 and 8 students will be supported by a Head of House and House Leaders within their vertical house structure. The House Leader monitors each student’s progress, both academically and personally. The House Leader should be approached to assist in supporting students through any personal or school-related challenges and is also the contact point in the school for parents with questions or concerns. Heads of House work closely with their House Leader teams and are able to provide students looking at alternate pathways with support and guidance in this area.

Form groups will operate with approximately 25 students.  Each Form group has a team of 8 – 9 teachers.
