Year 8 Maths Games Day

On 6 September, a group of elite Year 8 students faced off against 73 other schools at PEGS in an annual Math Competition. Together, Eliza, Angelina, Callie, and Grace formed Team 1, with Mia, Greta, Lizzie, and Sophie in Team 2. Throughout the day, we competed against multiple other teams in 1 on 1 games like Number Bust, Dot to Dot, 5 Alive, and more, tallying up our wins. We also had two 40-minute slots to fill out booklets full of questions, ranging from angles to weight, and area to tricky worded problems.

It was challenging, exhilarating, and fun, an “experience to cherish”. We were welcomed with open arms, enjoying lunch on the sunny school grounds. It was great for bonding and meeting new people, allowing us to test our knowledge while still feeling comfortable. It was an amazing day that we’d love to do again.

Year 10 Maths Games Day: Trinity Grammar

Year 10 students recently experienced an engaging and educational day filled with fun and excitement as they participated in an inter-school Maths Games Day. This innovative event, aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation for mathematics, proved to be a resounding success, leaving students with a newfound enthusiasm for numbers and problem-solving.

The Year 10 Maths Games Day was a dynamic blend of friendly competition, teamwork, and brain-teasing challenges, designed to make math both enjoyable and accessible. One of the highlights of the day was the Relay Race, where teams of students had to solve mathematical problems together. This not only encouraged collaboration but also showcased the importance of teamwork in problem-solving.
