Dear parents and carers
It's hard to believe that we only have two weeks of term to go. Please note that the children will finish for Term 3 holidays on Friday 15th September at 1pm. We will also be hosting a very special sports day event, 'STEPtember Celebration'. Please check out the Family Engagement page for more info around this event.
We had a fabulous week last week with our Book Week Celebrations. We have some amazing and creative families who designed, created or found fabulous costumes for the children to wear for our school parade. I would like to thank the St John's Book Week team who planned and organised fun things to happen every day last week including author visits and family afternoon activities.
I would like to draw your attention to the Resilience Project page of the newsletter. As a staff, and with Karen's leadership, we have developed a clear process to support staff and children when dealing with minor or major behaviour that can occur during our day. The purpose was to create consistent language and approach to behaviour support. There is a process outlined for staff and an modified version for Prep - 2 Hubs and 3-6 Hubs. These were presented to the St John's School Advisory Council last night and they felt they would be a positive addition to our school. For more information, please see Karen's message on the Resilience Project page.
Thank you to the families who have already completed the MACSSIS Survey, I encourage all families to access this so that when we receive the report, we can include parent voice in our planning for 2024. If you have any questions please contact the school.
Please be on the look out in the next fortnight for an email containing a form that will request families to nominate their intentions for the child/ren attending St John's for 2024. This will allows us to confirm out 2024 numbers for Year 1 - 6 and if we are able to offer positions to families who we have on our waitlist. I will also be providing an update of school fees and levies for 2024.
Tomorrow we celebrate all the special dads, uncles, grandfathers or significant people in the lives of the children at St John's with a breakfast. Please see the Family Engagement page for all the details.
I would like to finish with wishing all the fathers and special men in the lives of the children at St John's as very happy Father's Day on Sunday. I hope that you feel spoilt and loved.
Prayer for Fathers on Father's Day:
Loving God,
On this Father's Day, we honor and thank You for the gift of fathers in our lives.
We are grateful for the love, guidance, and wisdom they provide, reflecting Your own paternal care for us.
Bless all fathers with Your grace and strength. May they be role models of faith, integrity, and love in their families.
Bless us all, Father, and grant that our families may be places of love, respect, and mutual support.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
Warm wishes
Emily
