Another Term Concludes

Another school term draws to a close. Term 3 certainly seemed to fly by and was absolutely jam-packed with activities.

Here is a quick overview of the opportunities our students participated in this term: Regional Winter Sports, AFL 9’s Competition Grade 3 and 4 Cowes camp, our Foundation students celebrated their 100th day of school, the BEBRAS- International Computational Thinking Challenge, Book Week celebrations, the Monash Teddy Bear’s Hospital, Dance Production at Assembly, Lion’s Club Public Speaking Competition, Grade 5 and 6 Canberra Camp, Junior Swimming Lessons, Bike Education Program, NFL Flag Competition, RUOK Day, Footy Colours and Pizza Day and our Student-led Conferences. I’m sure that I’ve missed a few. Our students and staff are certainly deserving of a break!

On behalf of the Principal Team, I wish you all a well-deserved break and hope that you can spend some quality time with family and friends over the school vacation period.  We look forward to seeing you all in Term 4.

YMCA Holiday Program

For those families looking for quality care during school holidays or just for some extra activities to be involved in– your children will love YMCA School Holiday Program!

The program runs between Monday 18 September to Thursday 28 September, on weekdays.

The team have prepared a range of engaging experiences that will spark your child's interests and connect them with new friends.  Program information can be found here.

Welcome Gail Harding!

Next Term we have the pleasure of hosting visiting Principal, Gail Harding.  Gail will be working with our Principal Team for a 20 day internship that forms part of her training to work as Principal in Victorian Government Schools.

Gail is already an experienced principal-class employee and will be expected to undertake the full- duties of Principal at Trafalgar Primary under my mentorship.  This will mean that Gail may well be leading and participating in any relevant meetings including meetings with parents such as Student Support Groups.  As well as learning from us we expect to learn from Gail’s wealth of experience as a school leader and teacher.

About Ms Harding

In my 25 years of teaching I have worked in various schools across Gippsland and in Melbourne.  Before taking on the role as Assistant Principal, I was the Leading Teacher heading Curriculum and Assessments, and before that a classroom teacher for 20 years. I have been part of the Leadership team at Churchill Primary School for ten years.  My passion has always been around Literacy and student well-being.  I am looking forward to being a part of the Trafalgar PS community and meeting you all.
