School Uniform - Reminders

As Term 4 approaches and the weather is starting to warm up, along with our uniform shop up and running, this week the Principal team took the opportunity to complete an observation of our students wearing their uniform across the differing year levels.

It was pleasing to see that mostly our students were in the correct uniform with these few reminders for all families:

  • Shorts must be fully black, no extra logos or prints.
  • Shoes must be black, no extra logos or prints.
  • Jackets or jumpers must be TPS and not the local sports team tops.

The following picture is for reference and indicates what is appropriate and within our school uniform policy. If you are having difficulty meeting our uniform requirements please don't hesitate to get in contact with the school.

In term 4, we remind students that this is a hat wearing term. If you need a new school hat come and see admin staff at the uniform shop located in the office. Caps are not permitted at school.

Music Update

Song of the year 80s vs Current (2020 - Current)

In Terms 2 and 3 this year all music classes have been starting each lesson by listening and interacting with 2 songs and then voting for one of the songs. The teachers and school staff also got to vote. The winning songs have been the school’s bell music and songs were removed from the bell music when they lost.

80s songs dominated the wins throughout but a current song ended up taking out the win - Missing piece by Melbourne’s own Vance Joy.

Here is the completed chart. 2023 Best Song - 80s vs current

Term 3 assembly performers

Every Friday assembly at Trafalgar Primary School starts with a student musical act. The students choose their songs and practice in the music studio at recess and lunch. The bands are formed by the students themselves. Their performances are self driven and self motivated by the students with preparations only guided by Mr Allan and the instrumental teachers. Here were this term’s performers.

Festival On The Lawn 2023 - Friday 1st December

Planning is going well for the 2023 Festival on the lawn.

Classes have chosen their songs and rehearsals have begun in music, drama, dance, and the Kindagarten next door are also performing on the day and are also rehearsing. The art department are also well underway in choosing and creating pieces for the art show on the day.

I have locked in more vendors than last year. These include: Parents Club showbags, Lions Club bbq, Charli’s Donuts, Madison’s Magical Pop and Floss, Dypsy Gypsy Icecream Van, Moore’s Coffee Van and Grilled Cheese Toastie Food Truck.

Student excitement is already building and we are looking forward to running a successful event.

Breakfast Club

We have had so many students visit us in the mornings for delicious toasties, cereals and milos to help kick start their learning day!   It’s also been wonderful to be inundated with so many students eager to volunteer their time to help make Breakfast Club an amazing experience for all!

If your child is keen to be a Breakfast Club helper, they are welcome to see Mrs Burns or Mrs Marslen to join our growing roster of amazing volunteers.

Care Packages and Milo Donations!

Due to our generous donations, Breakfast Club continues to support many families through the provision of Care Packages.  Our Traf Pantry (found in the Gym Foyer), continues to be stocked with many excellent products, available to anyone - and they’re free!

If you would like to receive a Care Package or know of a family who may benefit, feel free to drop into our School Office, see Mrs Burns or Mrs Marslen.

A shout out goes to those who generously donate goods to our breakfast club , IGA Trafalgar, Bakers Delight Morwell,  Gracies Bakery Trafalgar,  RTL Morwell.

Thank you again to all families who have generously donated tins of Milo to our Breakfast Club. Our students have absolutely love the warm milos each morning.

Any extra donations of Milo would be most appreciated!

Student Saftey

Our bus drivers have brought to our attention that some primary school children are not being careful at the entry and exit of the bus loop, they have reported students stepping out onto the road with out looking for buses and some are standing way to close to the edge of the road when they do wait.

Please remind your children to be careful in this area.
