The Monash Teddy Bear Hospital visited the grades1 & 2’s last Friday to raise awarness about the importance of healthy living and familiarise children with the GP and Hospital settings. Our students had a wonderful time interacting with different educational stations including Teddy X-Ray, Teddy Surgery and Teddy GP Clinic.
As part of the Sport and Physical Education curriculum in Term 3, Grade 3-6 students at Trafalgar Primary School have been learning about the exciting sport of NFL Flag. NFL Flag is a 5-a-side, non-contact, version of American Football. Players attempt to invade each other’s endzone to score touchdowns and make conversions. Players wear flag belts, and instead of tackling, an opposing player pulls the running player’s flag.
On Tuesday the 12th of September, Trafalgar Primary School sent two teams of Grade 5-6 students to represent our school at the inaugural NFL Flag Victorian State Championships. The competition was fierce, but our young athletes showcased a high level of skill, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the tournament.
Each team scored many memorable touchdowns and we couldn't be prouder of the exceptional performances that they gave.
However, a special congratulations goes to our senior team, who went undefeated during the pool rounds of the championships. They played amazing football throughout the event, and although they ultimately lost in the semi-final, they finished an impressive 4th place in the entire state!
Special congratulations also go to Noah A and Harry B who were each selected as the MVP for their respective teams. These awards were a testament to their hard work and dedication to this sport throughout the term.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the students who participated in this event. Your commitment to teamwork, perseverance, and representing our school with pride is truly commendable. We look forward to more exciting NFL Flag achievements in the future!
We are thrilled to announce that our Term 3 Bike Ed program has been a phenomenal success! 🚴♀️🚴♂️
Over the course of this term, our dedicated team of teachers, education support staff, instructors, and enthusiastic students have been pedalling towards safer, more confident cycling skills. We're excited to report that it has been a resounding success!
Highlights of the Program:
🚲 Skill Development: Our students have honed their cycling skills, from mastering balance and control, to practicing more advanced skills such as bike jumps and safe landings.
🚲 Safety First: Emphasising safety at all times, students have learned the importance of helmets, braking, and how to navigate complex courses.
🚲 Confidence Boost: As the weeks passed, we witnessed a remarkable increase in our students' biking confidence. They're now ready to tackle almost any cycling adventure that comes their way!
A huge round of applause goes out to our students for their enthusiasm and commitment to learning the art of safe cycling. Well done, everyone!
We look forward to building upon this success in 2024. In the meantime, grab your helmets and keep pedalling!
Recently our drama students performed for family and friends, with 5 plays presented it was always going to be a big night for the drama students and their excited audience. From a trip to Mars to the ancient Greek tale of Peresphone there was plenty of variety in the stories being told.
For those who were unable to attend on the night here is a repeat performance of The Perfect Breakfast.
A big thank you must go to the supportive parents for their help with costumes, a great after party and especially to Mike Kolody for the amazing backdrops which took the visual element of the plays to a whole new level.
Congratulations go to the drama students who put in so much energy and effort and created a great night for themselves and their audience.
Baily Humphrey from Gold Coast Suns visited our grades 3 - 6's on Thursday.
