Student Engagement
Community Health / Respectful Relationships
Term 4 will have a focus of Problem Solving and Help Seeking for Community Health.
Problem solving
During these lessons we will working with students to build a range of problem-solving skills to tackle the challenges students will face in their future. Problem solving allows students to think about potential challenges in their day and ways to overcome them. To be able to solve problems, children need to be able to think critically and think about what will happen if they choose certain actions.
Help Seeking
Children in schools are working on developing and negotiating new relationships with a number of adults and children. Knowing who to go to for help and advice, and what help to ask for can be confusing and stressful. Staff will be encouraging and fostering help-seeking behaviours to improve mental health and wellbeing for all students. It is important to work with students to make sure they are aware about help-seeking avenues and confident to seek help from an appropriate source when needed.
