Dear Families and Friends,

We have had another very successful week at Trinity which began with our Monday morning gathering in the MPR. Hopefully soon, it will be warm enough to once again gather outside to say our school prayer and sing the National Anthem.  One of the first things we did this week was to celebrate the victory of the Matildas over France and their progress into the semi finals of the FIFA World Cup. Whilst sadly we now know they were unable to continue their success, losing last night's game against England, I am sure we are all immensly proud of their effort to go so far. Fingers crossed for a Bronze Medal on Saturday against Sweden. Reaching the semi final was a first for any Australian soccer team in our history at the soccer World Cup. Of course this achievement is so much more than just a win in a soccer game. It is a celebration of how far women's sport in Australia has come. Women's soccer in Australia does date back to the early 1920s, however, it was not until the mid 1970s that a women's team was able to compete at an international level. I am sure that each of today's Matildas would acknowledge every woman who has ever played soccer in Australia as they have had a big part to play in paving the way for our current team as well as all the junior girls now playing soccer in our local community teams.  Our success has already had an enormous impact on so many people especially our children who can watch this achievement and realize that great things are possible when you dream big and work hard. GO MATILDAS!

The Lume Melbourne (Official Connection Trailer)

Our Year 3/4 classes had a wonderful experience on Wednesday visiting the Lume Melbourne, the worlds largest digital art gallery. With our own Art Show coming up it was an amazing opportunity to see first hand this interesting art medium. I am sure it will have inspired much creativity in our students and given them an even greater appreciation of artistic expression.

Idling Cars

Dear families could I ask that parents and carers stopping on Kent Street for drop off and pick up avoid parking across the driveway in front of the gates as this can cause inconvenience for other parents. I am also aware that at times people have been leaving cars running whilst seeing children into the school grounds. As the morning and afternoon times can get quite busy with pedestrians the exhaust fumes of stationary cars should be avoided, especially for our children gathering in the area.

Thank you in advance and I appreciate your understanding. If you could please pass this message on to any grandparents, carers etc who do the drop off and pick ups that would be great.

Parent Talking Circle: Uniforms

As mentioned last week, following our most recent Parent Talking Circle on the topic of School Uniform, we had some great feedback from the group of parents who attended.

Currently our school uniform policies are outlined in our Family Welcome Pack as shown below. Our intention is to review this document taking into consideration feedback from staff, parents and students whilst maintaining the purpose and value of school uniforms in general.  I will share a Google Form Survey in the coming weeks to get some input from the wider parent group.

Prayer of Gratitude

Lord God, we do not always remember to thank You as we ought for all You have done for us and given us.

We praise You for Your goodness and offer our prayers of thanksgiving to You today for all You have done for us and given us.

Out of Your goodness, You chose to create the world and to make us in Your own image. You have given each of us life in order that we might know, love, and serve You.

We thank You for all of Your blessings, and we particularly thank You today for giving us life!

Help us to grow in gratitude each day, in every circumstance. Help us to grow closer to You each day of our lives.

Amen
