Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

YEAR 3/4 CAMP KANGAROOBIE

It has been my pleasure to attend the Year 3/4 Camp to Kangaroobie. We had mixed weather but it’s always an incredibly fun time at the farm. The students enjoyed Bush Cooking, Farm Activities, Hut Building, Survival Game and Obstacle Course.

We also enjoyed team building activities, night walks and fireside activities. Matt and Sophie Bowker are always great hosts and if you ever get the opportunity to spend a few hours down there you will not be disappointed. Thank-you to the staff who organised a great experience for our Year 3/4 students and to the parents who assisted by attending. I’m sure everyone involved will agree that it's been a fantastic three day experience.

CAMP MONTH CONTINUES- MELBOURNE YEAR 6 WEDNESDAY 23RD TO 25TH AUGUST 2023

The Year 6 students and teachers are incredibly excited about attending the Melbourne Camp next week. Students and staff will really enjoy the city life and experience of public transport.

There's lots of fantastic activities planned and it will be such a learning experience and an opportunity for the children to experience independence. They will learn a great deal about themselves whilst out of their comfort zones.

SWIMMING LESSONS - TERM 4

As part of the 2023 curriculum, students will once again participate in eight swimming lessons over four weeks at the start of Term 4 at Aqua Zone. The reasoning behind schools providing these lessons is to ensure students learn how to swim and to help develop lifelong skills in water safety to reduce their risk of drowning and injury.

Skill check forms have been sent home with students and must be returned to the school office as soon as possible.

Payment if not already paid through curriculum contributions and consent must be completed on Compass.

Classes will require parent helpers so if your able to assist please contact your child's teacher.

If you have any questions or require another skills check form please contact the school office.

FOOD SHARE DRIVE

The Warrnambool Primary School JSC members are once again holding our Annual Food Share Drive!

Donations are being accepted to the end of the term in each of the classrooms.

So please get purchasing to support such a worthy cause to our school.

GO MATILDA’S

What a great week for sport but especially the involvement of women in sports. The entire nation is captivated by the Matilda’s and their rise through the World Cup. When you hear the players and coaches interviewed they all recall moments of inspiration when they were children. They also mention the persistence that it took to reach their goals. I hope this excitement rubs off on our students so that they know that if they have dreams in life that they can achieve them through hard work and dedication. WE also know that success is not a linear process with many ups and downs and it is vital that our children understand that with support they can come through the down times.

Have a great weekend!
