Grade Five and Six have been using underglazes to decorate their ceramic houses. Although the students are working with a limited colour palette, they are experimenting with colour mixing and using detail to enhance their creations.
The students are working hard to add snouts, ears, spikes and unique features to their Australian Animal Masks. Whilst some are exploring the vast palette of colours on offer to paint their mask, some are learning about paper and card engineering to make sure their additions stay put.
Take a look at these incredibly detailed Pet Portraits made by Grade 2! I am so proud of the students and their creative abilities!
Grade 1s have been having lots of fun recycling junk for their interpretation of the picture story book, “The Tin Forest”. Working in 3D but on a flat plane is challenging. Gluing all manner of materials is also a challenge but lots of fun when you are allowed to go rogue with PVAglue!
Our “Very Hungry Caterpillar” artworks have come full lifecycle with our colourful butterflies made with our dyed paper. Fiddle fingers were in action, carefully folding concertina fans to make the butterfly wings. Dolly pegs and pipe cleaners were used to complete our creations.
