BAMS NEWS
September 1, 2023
Summer has come and gone! A reminder that there is no school this coming Monday, September 4 due to the Labor Day holiday. Enjoy the long weekend!
The start of school has been very smooth! The kids have been terrific and they are learning many new routines and expectations. Unfortunately, it looks like July heat will be here next week. The classrooms can become unbearable at times, so please send your children in with water bottles and we'll get through it!
Compared to the peak COVID years, this year has been a breeze! Although it is not completely over, we are in such better shape. I have included our current protocols from the nurses if you click here.
I look forward to serving you and your student(s) this year. It's a privilege, and I appreciate all of you for trusting us every day to take care of them and to make their experience the best possible.
Sincerely,
Keith Lyman- BAMS Principal
If students are planning to attend the high school football game tonight, or any future sporting events, it is important to know that all school rules apply there as well. Students not following expectations or staff directives at the game may be required to leave, and may not be allowed to go to games in the future.
Thank you, parents, for helping to supervise your child at the games, and for picking them up in a timely manner.
School Pictures will be on September 19. Order information was sent home on the first day of school. You can also order electronically by going to mylifetouch.com. When prompted, us code EVTBT6SST

As part of our Multi-Layered Systems of Support (MLSS), we will complete fall benchmark assessments for all students during the week of September 11. We are using a new assessment tool called STAR 360. This is the tool we will be using from elementary to high school. We use the data to plan support groups, to plan regular instruction, and to help us monitor student progress.
All teams will begin practice on Wednesday, September 6th. Teams practice or compete 5 days a week after school. Practices are from 3:30-5:15. The interscholastic schedule begins on 9/14. The FALL season concludes the last week of October.
FIELD HOCKEY—Athletes change at school and bring all possessions to SAWYER FIELD (next to the Career Center). Please pick your athlete up promptly at 5:15 at the field.
GIRLS/BOYS SOCCER—Athletes change at school and bring all possessions to FORT DUMMER FIELD (located at the bottom of Sunny Acres Rd). Please pick your athlete up promptly at 5:15 at the field.
PADDED FLAG FOOTBALL—Athletes change at school. Athletes “pad up” and leave possessions in the locked changing area. Football practices on Tenney Field (BUHS baseball). Athletes return to the room after practice to change and leave gear in the locked changing area. Pick up is typically closer to 5:30 in the BUHS parking loop.
