Wakakirri


 

Last Thursday, August 17, was Wakakirri night! After six months of preparation, it was finally time for our 72 amazing students to take to the stage. And what a night it was! 

After a long and hectic Day of preparation, our performance went off without any major hitch and was met with huge applause and excellent feedback from the judges. 

Our awards included:

  • Storytelling award- Great story
  • Lead cast award- Excellent lead acting
  • Production award- Overall staging
  • Creative production award- Minimalist production design
  • Production award- Projection
  • The Spirit of Wakakirri Award- for demonstrating the ethos and values of Wakakirri

AND 

  • State Award, High Commendation- one of the top performing Primary Schools in Victoria!

It has been my absolute pleasure to produce Wakakirri in 2023 and I am incredibly proud of every single student who participated. Thank you to all the teachers who have supported us this year especially Mrs Bingham, Miss Lord, Miss Barth, Mrs Dewar, Miss French, Mrs Fairclough, Mr G, Mr Tapp, Mel and Lisa and our amazing parent helpers; Kellie, Kerrie, Jen and Chris. 

Now we wait and see if we win a National Award…….
