Many of you are engaged in both music and sports, and CC Sport wants to help you find the right balance while ensuring that you have a fulfilling experience in both areas.
I recognise that your dedication to both music and sports is commendable, and I want to support you in achieving success academically and in your co-curricular pursuits. The purpose of the below is to provide guidance on managing your commitments, open lines of communication, and offer suggestions for negotiation to ensure fairness and equity in your participation.

Laura Poon (Year 12) and Poppy Stephen (Year 12)
We are thrilled to share the exhilarating achievements of two young athletes who have left an indelible mark at the School Sport Australia National Swimming Championships. Laura Poon and Poppy Stephen, names that are set to resonate in the world of competitive swimming, have concluded the championship with remarkable victories and record-breaking feats that have set the pool abuzz.

Jessie-Rose Talbot-Cooke (Year 10)

One such story that has recently captured our attention is that of Jessie-Rose Talbot-Cooke, who returned from the National Karate Championships held in Perth with an impressive haul of three bronze medals. Jessie's journey to this achievement is a testament to her dedication and passion for the martial arts, as well as her unwavering commitment to pushing her limits.
A Glimpse into Jessie's Journey
Preparing for a championship at the National level demands nothing short of relentless training and unmatched dedication. Jessie's daily routine was a symphony of rigorous physical conditioning, honing of technique and mental fortitude. Josh Mathew (Year 7)
I am thrilled to bring you an update from the Queensland Schools State Tennis Championships, where young talent Josh Mathew made quite the impact. In a display of dedication and skill, Josh not only secured an impressive 7th place in the individual competition but also contributed significantly to the success of Metropolitan North, who clinched the silver medal in the team’s event.
Competing against some of the State's finest young tennis players, he showcased his prowess on the court. With remarkable determination and strategic gameplay, he secured a commendable 7th place in the individual competition, a testament to his hard work and commitment to the sport.
His commitment to honing his tennis skills, both on and off the court, has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in his accomplishments at the Queensland Schools State Tennis Championships. As the cheers and applause from the Queensland Schools State Tennis Championships fade away, Josh will continue training with unwavering determination. We look forward to observing future chapters of Josh’s tennis journey, bolstered by the ongoing support of the SHINE Program.
