Please join us to celebrate the Eucharist as a Parish and School community. Our last Family Mass for the term is this Sunday 10th September at 9.00am. Students from Years 2 and 5 will be involved in reading and the offertory, however all families are welcome to attend! We will gather for morning tea after Mass. Students from Years 2 and 5 are asked to bring a plate of goodies to share.
Please keep our Confirmation candidates in your prayers as they prepare to receive the sacrament on Sunday 17th September. Our Confirmation Mass will begin at 9.00am. Candidates and their sponsors need to be seated in the centre section of the church by 8.50am, with all other family members sitting in the sections to the left and right of the altar.
Parents of candidates, please ensure you send in the information page to your classroom teacher. This must be completed in full, so appropriate details can be passed on to the Parishes. There are still a few outstanding and incomplete forms. This is now a matter of urgency.
This Friday 8th September is the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is the day we celebrate the birth of Mary, Jesus’ mother. Although her birth is not recorded in the Scriptures, we know that St Joachim and St Ann raised Mary as a child of God; to be loving and caring.
Birthday celebrations bring happiness to the celebrant, as well as to family and friends. Next to the birth of Jesus, Mary’s birth offers the greatest possible happiness to the world. Each time we celebrate her birth, we can confidently hope for an increase of peace in our hearts and in the world at large.
Sunday 24th September is Migrant and Refugee Sunday. Everyone is invited to a Parish Mass at 9.00am, followed by a morning tea. Father Paul has asked that those attending bring a plate of food to share, representing your culture. Come along and celebrate the diversity of nationalities that help make up our local community.
Please remind your child that the Early Bird Reading Club is on each day from 8.30am. This is an opportunity for students to get in some valuable quiet reading time. Every chance to read personal choice books can only help reading development and building reading abilities.
At Infants there is always an opportunity to read with the library staff. Stickers, books and lots of congratulations are always available. At Primary it is quiet independent reading in a warm comfortable space.
