Health Centre News - First Aid in Schools

The First Aid In Schools Program has been part of BPS for the last 10 years. Each year all students are taught first aid according to their age and year level. This program is designed for students of all ages and is teaching the children how to recognise and help manage in an emergency situation.  Brighton Primary School has been committed to promoting the importance of first aid making sure that children learn vital first aid knowledge and valuable life skills.

The sessions are free, interactive and age appropriate. The children  always find them extremely interesting and valuable.

Last week our Prep and Grade 1 students were taught how to call for help in an emergency. They were eager to be involved and listened eagerly throughout the sessions. Children are also taught how to recognise danger, making sure that they never put themselves at risk when helping in an emergency.

Well done to all the students involved. You were fantastic first aiders!!
