Acknowledging Reconciliation Week

Recently, as part of Reconciliation week, we celebrated and honoured the contributions of First Nations people to our society. In Freeman we are particularly proud to be named after the inspirational Cathy Freeman, who beyond the world of sport has been a great advocate in in closing the gap in education, between indigenous and non-indigenous children.

Exams

We wish our senior school students well in the lead up to the mid-year exams. A reminder to be early and be prepared with all equipment. It is the little things that can help take the pressure off and some of the stress. A reminder that if you are unwell on the day of the exam to contact the Freeman House Office and we wish everyone the best of luck.

Freeman at City Experience

In the last week of May our year 9 students got to spend 3 days exploring the city. We are so very proud of the Freeman students and their engagement in the program. We got to witness kind, curious and mature young people engage in the all the culture the City of Melbourne has to offer. A round of applause to Ms Phelan and all the staff who worked in the background to make this event such a success. We truly hope that student participation in the city experience program not only broadened your horizons but also fostered lasting memories and friendships.

Values Nominations

Let's give a shout-out to all students who achieved a values nomination this month; what an outstanding effort. Whether it's excelling in academics, showcasing talent in extracurricular activities, or demonstrating kindness and leadership, your contributions make our school community thrive. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Freeman achieved a total of 72 Values nominations for the month. A special mention to Adnan, Neelab and Ahmad Zia for leading in the various nomination categories.
