Hollows House

News

Hello Hollows Community!

Over the past couple of weeks, Hollows staff and students have been hard at work, demonstrating our college values of Respect, Learning, and Working Together. They have been engaging in learning tasks, actively studying for exams, completing common assessment tasks, and representing our school in numerous sporting events. As we near the end of the term, students will submit final assessments, and for seniors, participate in mid-year exams.

We have two special announcements for our Hollows staff members:

  • Congratulations to Mr. Eldridge on the birth of his second child!
  • Best wishes to Ms. Ho, who will be getting married this weekend!

Update from our Hollows House Captain – Montanna McGuiness:

“During the last couple weeks, we had career expo at Hampton Park Secondary College, Our year 11 cohort students were running the expo to educate our year 9 & 10 students about some the VCE/VM/VET subjects we offer at HPSC. During the expo the year 9 &10’s were able to gather information about what they want to do in the future. Our year 11’s offered sweets and small gifts to students who showed an interest in learning more about each subject.

I was also included in this event. I promoted our accounting subjects we offer in years 10,11 and 12. In my allocated area, I also has the chance to run a small competition for students who attended my display. Students had to guess how many sweets where in a jar and the winner received the lollies to take home. Thank you to our lovely year 11students for being able to make the career expo run perfectly and another huge thank you to our lovely Miss Lizl Tregidga for assisting the year 11 cohort to make sure the career expo was perfect”

Introducing our New House Leaders

Hollows Head of House

Welcome back Mr Hare!

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Hare has been appointed as the ‘Acting Head of House’ for the remainder of the term. While primarily a Health and PE teacher, Mr. Hare has recently been serving as a Student Learning Leader in Walton House for Year 7, 8, and 9 students. He is excited to return and reconnect with the familiar faces of students he has previously mentored.

Mr. Hare is eager to make the most of this opportunity by supporting all students and staff members of Hollows. With his highly competitive nature, he is also looking forward to promoting House and Mentor group competitions!

While I will only be present for a short period of time in the Hollows SSL role, please do not hesitate to come and see me should you require any assistance.

I look forward to working with you.

Mr. V.P.

It's wonderful to reflect on our values nominations so far and see clear evidence of our Hollows students demonstrating their learning values. As we enter the final weeks, I encourage our students to ask themselves three questions:

  1. How have you helped yourself today?
  2. How have you helped your teacher?
  3. How have you helped another student?
