Hello Families,

We are so excited to share with you all that we have got up to in the last two weeks. Before we get into this however, we would like to wish all of the Mothers, Grandmothers and special people in the children’s lives a lovely Mother’s Day this Sunday. We hope the day brings you endless love, laughter and joy.

Week 3 – ‘Space Spectacular’

This week we have been exploring all things Space! We started our week by using Playdough and making some planet shapes. We then continued the fun when we made our very own Straw Rockets. The children were amazed at the fact that their rockets actually stood up by themselves. We continued our space theme fun by making some Rocketship keyrings. It was awesome to see the children resources their creativity during this activity. On a broader scale, drawing away from our direct theme this week the children have also participated in many other activities. This includes Mother’s Day crafts and many games of Pictureka. With so many new resources at the service the children are finding new ways to engage in endless fun!

Week 4 – ‘In The Jungle’

This week we were considering all things involved in the Jungle. To start our week the children made their very own paper chain snakes. Others continued by making some beaded snakes. On Tuesday there was a lot of excitement around the service as the children had all been to the Mother’s Day stall to purchase a gift for the special people in their lives. It was lovely to see the children show so much pride in what they had brought these individuals. Drawing back into our theme, the children thoroughly enjoyed making Watercolour Silhouettes and using Paper Plates to make a range of animals. Did you know that you can turn a plain paper plate into a Monkey or a Cheetah. Drawing away from our theme, this week the children enjoyed playing Soccer and making Mother’s Day cards. We are so excited to see what the next few weeks of Term are going to bring at TheirCare!

Sun Safety

In Term 2, we would like to reassure all parents and guardians that we closely monitor the Temperature and UV Rays before engaging in outdoor play and Hats are worn as required. Further to this we continue to ensure that sunscreen is always applied, if your child requires a specific sunscreen, please do not hesitate to let us know so that we can accommodate for this! 

Pupil Free Day

TheirCare will be open for a Pupil Free Day on Friday May 17th. This day falls in part of our ‘Sensory Splash’ theme. During this day, the children will immerse themselves in a range of activities. This including: Cloud Dough, Magic Unstoppable Bubbles and Frozen Animal Carving. We hope to see as many of the children as we can for this day full of fun and laughter.
