Pictures of Professional Practice

We always delight in starting our academic term by bringing our staff together for professional learning, and this term was no exception. A highlight of our professional development program has been the regular integration of ‘Pictures of Professional Practice’. These are forums for our staff to showcase their thinking and expertise and the opportunity sees members of our teaching faculty present on ideas through whole-staff presentations, or smaller, more ‘hands on’ workshops. 

On Tuesday 30 April, our focus was the ways our educators plan curriculum to enhance our students’ development of the dispositions necessary to propel life-long learning forward. We consider this to be, “learning that matters” (Perkins, 1997) and this focus comes from our work with our Academic in Residence, Professor Ron Ritchhart.
