3-6 HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY

The annual St John Vianney’s House Cross Country event was held for students in Years 3 to 6 on Monday 22nd April.  This event is focused on participation, fun and doing your best for your team.  All participants were awarded points for their team.  The 5/6 races were all quite close finishes, with the year 6 girls race ending in a photo finish!  The year 3 students did an amazing job in completing their first ever Cross Country with all students starting and finishing their race.  We were lucky to have our wonderful parent helpers at the finish line keeping the results and giving out ribbons - huge thanks to Francine and Minh who made our event run as smooth as ever.

Individual results will be used to select a team to run at the Wellington District Cross Country event on Monday May 6th.  Interschool sports events have 3 age groups - 9/10 year olds, 11 year olds and 12/13 year olds (for this year, students must be born in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015).  At interschool events our students must be in one of these age groups to qualify to compete.  Mrs Sullivan will look at the times each child ran in the House Cross Country, and also look at their age group to select the interschool District team.

By the end of the day the scores were: 

Green - Xavier 780

Red - Padua 680

Blue - Lourdes 655

Gold - Kildare 622
