"Jules Chevalier’s view was clear and simple. If we are to find meaning and happiness in life, we must learn to believe in God’s love for us and let it transform our lives.”
EJ Cuskelly MSC
The Easter period is a great time to remind ourselves of God’s love for us. We did this with both the Stations of the Cross Liturgy, and the Resurrection Liturgy, where students heard the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the importance of his love for all.
The teaching that we should take care of others was on full display at the end of last term when some Year 12 students participated in the annual World’s Greatest Shave.
Much needed funds were raised for those suffering, and this cause was near and dear to the heart of Monivae with a recent Old Collegian in Ben Read (son of current staff member Alison) going through his own battle at this time.
In true Monivae fashion, we had 3 local hairdressers in Jo McKew, Jess Bubb and Belinda Colliton donate their skill and time to make sure this happened. Thank you must go to these ladies.
On April 24th, we stood together as we commemorated Anzac Day as a College. After a reading and prayers from our College Captains and Vice Captains, we observed a minute’s silence in memory of all who have served for our country.
On Wednesday 1st of May, the Annual Cadet Camp Mass was held with the assistance of Father Ted McCormack msc. More on this next newsletter.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.
