VCE -Vocational Major
VCE-VM Integrated Activities
The Vocational Major course allows for a lot of integration within its subjects allowing our students to further apply and bring together skills they have learnt in each of their individual subjects. Two of our current integrated projects are Anzac Day and making Christmas decorations.
Anzac Day
On Monday April 22nd the VCE-VM students along with the IGNITE group participated in an integrated curriculum day based around Anzac Day.
Before recess the students applied their instructional and measurement skills to make Anzac biscuits. Also show casing their abilities to work effectively as a team. Following on from this students researched the history of the biscuits to start their recipe book.
Afterwards students walked to the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial where they completed group research tasks. Students asked lots of interesting questions and were intrigued by the memorials and the depth and impact of the war. The memorial is well worth a look, and we spent time looking for our own family names.
In the afternoon students reflected on their visit to the memorial walk to create items out of clay which will be fired and put together to make a class wreath. All students worked so well in this task and contributed with their own ideas to the project.
We congratulate all the students on their participation throughout the day.
