From the Principal
y Happy Mother's Day!!
A very Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers, grandmothers, and special people who step in to mother us and shower us with their love. We hope you have an amazing Mother's Day!!
A massive thank you to our P&F and especially our president Lourdes for organising a delicious morning tea for our mother's. Hours of work went into setting up the space for our party and it looked amazing!! There was plenty of delicious food as well. We had a huge turn out of mother's and grandmother's which was sensational. The funds raised from the Biggest Morning Tea and raffle goes to cancer research. The choir performed and so did all our juniors form LS1, LS2 and then LS3. Th seniors had a presentation that was also shared on the big screen. It was very emotional and there were a few happy tears of joy as we watched our beautiful children perform for the mother's and nans in the audience. One or two dads as well.
After first lunch till the end of the day the P&F opened the Mother's Day stall. There was alot of gifts purchased and I am sure they will put a smile on your face.
Enjoy the weekend and I hope you get to have a FUN day on Sunday.
Walk to School
It was a wet and cold start to the day but nothing could deter our students, staff and parents who took up the challenge to Walk to School this morning. Congratulations to all of them for doing their bit for the environment and for being active and enhancing their well-being.
Goals Galore!
Congratulations to our St Francis de Sales team that represented our school at the Paul Wade Soccer Tournament held at St John's Dandenong on Monday. The Children had a great day. We thank St John's staff and students who organised the 2024 gala. This is a wonderful annual event for Catholic schools from Noble Park, Dandenong, Endeavour Hills, Hampton Park And Lynbrook.
Special Visitor to SFS
On Thursday 9 May we had a surprise visitor to our school. We were delighted to meet the lovely Fr Brendan. Fr Brendan was the Parish Priest at St Kevin's Hampton Park over 21 years ago. He had the very important task of purchasing the land for the new school in Lynbrook all those years ago. He had two sites to choose from and decided on the land beside the station that our school is built on. Fr Brendan was very interested to go on a tour of our school and was amazed at the wonderful facilities we have. Fr Brendan was recently Parish Priest at St Mary's, Dandenong. He has retired and now lives near the city. He will be back later this term when he fills in for Fr Fabian when he takes sabbatical leave.
Mental Health in Primary Schools - MHIPS
Our MHiPS team have been completing professional learning. This week we have had a focus on the process of forming a plan of action based on the analysis of our data. There are many actions our Mental Health Welbeing Leader (MHWLs) Rachel Lenko can take to build our school's capacity to support the mental health and wellbeing of our students. We have identified a broad need within the school and are forming a plan of action. One of Rachel's focus will be on ensuring our universal Tier 1 strategies that benefit all students are in place. She will work with teachers to support this implementation. We will focus on implementing a variety of evidence-based support strategies such as High Impact Wellbeing Strategies (HIWS) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) at the universal level.
The seven High Impact Wellbeing Strategies to promote student wellbeing in the classroom are outlined below.
Applications for 2025 are due now.
Interviews for new families wishing to commence school at St Francis de Sales in 2025 will be held on
- Thursday 16th May and

Please inform neighbours and friends who will have a child eligible to start school in 2025 to book a tour. We have tours nearly every morning at 9 am.
Help promote our school and share stories of the great learning and extra curricula opportunities we provide.
Word of mouth stories about our great school community is the BEST promotion.
