Breakfast Club Update

The breakfast club continues to be popular again this term.

The Breakfast Club was established in 2022 to support those students that struggle to have a breakfast before arriving at school.

It provides an opportunity for students to come through, grab some brekky before tackling the school day - in the process aiding their learning and focus by getting some food in their systems!

While still catering for those students it appears that a large majority of those attending are coming for a second breakfast.

We are seeking donations of non-perishable breakfast foods e.g. Cereal, jam and spreads or a gold coin donation to purchase bread, milk, and butter.

To ensure we can continue the program for all students.

Please note that breakfast club is NOT a substitute for the SAC program - rather a place for students to come and grab a bowl of cereal or piece of toast if they’re not able to at home once the school gates are open.

The SAC program has also extended it breakfast time, to capture later arrivals.

Donations can be left at the office or breakfast club.

Kind Regards

Sue and Vickie.

Nut Aware

Heidelberg Primary School is a NUT AWARE SCHOOL

An allergic reaction or anaphylaxis can occur through ingestion of nut products, cross contamination, breathing nut dust in the air and touching nuts products or surfaces that have been exposed to nuts.

A school that identifies itself as Nut Aware, usually asks for the parents of every child, whether they are allergic to nuts or not, to consider peanut and tree nut alternatives when planning individually packed lunches.

Since this condition can be life threatening, we are asking all members of the school community for their help in minimising the risk to these children by:

  1. Avoiding giving children nuts or nut products in their packed lunches.
  2. Avoiding giving nuts or nut products or snacks / bars containing nuts for recess snacks
  3. Avoiding supplying the school with cakes or food items containing nuts (or traces of nuts) for birthday celebrations.
  4. Heidelberg Primary school does not allow students to share food.

Foods that are labelled “may have been produced in a factory handling nuts and cannot be guaranteed to be nut free”, will be allowed at school.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and support regarding this matter.
