SCS Eisteddfod
SCS Dance Eisteddfod
Congratulations to all of the students who performed in the Dance Eisteddfod last week. St Anthony’s entered four teams - Infants, Lyrical, Jazz A and Jazz B who travelled to MSJ Milperra to compete with other students from Sydney Catholic Schools. Nearly 80 STA students participated over the two day competition.
All of the students performed brilliantly and represented STA with enthusiasm and talent. The Infants performed “Do it like the Zombies do” and was awarded Highly Commended. The Lyrical group performed “Welcome to Wonderland” inspired by Alice in Wonderland and was also awarded Highly Commended. Jazz B performed “Rock this Party” and were full of energy and a joy to watch. Jazz A performed “Proud Mary” and channeled their inner Tina Turner and were awarded Third Place.
Congratulations also to Ella Crawshaw from Year 6 who represented STA and competed in the Solo Lyrical category of the Eisteddfod in the holidays and was awarded Highly Commended for her piece “People Help the People.”
Thank you to all of the parents and carers for getting students to early morning rehearsals. Special thanks to Bianca Benic in Year 5 and Miss Jade for their help with choreographing and assisting with the Infants Dance.
It has been a pleasure to work with such talented and enthusiastic dancers. The dances will be performed for parents and friends to watch later in the term so keep an eye out for that date.

Dance for Sick Kids @ Everlearn Preschool
Two of our Eisteddfod teams, Jazz A and Infants visited Everlearn Preschool during the week to support their fundraising for Dance for Sick Kids. This great initiative raises funds for families with a seriously ill or injured child and supports the services provided by Ronald McDonald House Charities.
It is specially designed to be inclusive and bring together a community of people who want to dance to make a difference. The students at the preschool loved their concert and then we all danced together to make a difference for sick kids.
