Hello, from Carolyn.

Respect, responsibility and kindness

Hello everyone,

ANZAC Day.

Our Wednesday morning ANZAC Day assembly was beautiful, a big congratulations to our student leaders and Jacinta Condon for excellent organisation and thoughtful content. Our special guests, Lisa Chesters MP and Maree Edwards MP were full of praise for the way our leaders, and all our students conducted themselves during the assembly. They also made the formal announcement of our successful Schools Upgrade grant.

On ANZAC Day our school was represented at the Eaglehawk service, our Vice Captains Georgia and Theo attended, and the Bendigo service, Russell and Audrey attended. Thank you to Kim Kirkpatrick for attending the Eaglehawk service with our Vice Captains.

School Crossing.

A reminder that, even though the school crossing isn't staffed, we all need to treat it as a school crossing. While the school crossing posts etc are still in place, it is a school crossing. That means no parking in the school crossing zone, you must stop if someone is on the crossing, and your speed must be 40kmh or slower.

I have noticed a few people crossing the road from between cars rather than using the school crossing, which is dangerous for everyone and is teaching some of our students poor road safety habits. Please always cross using the school crossing.

Coffee and a chat.

Last term, we held a coffee and a catch up to welcome new families to our school. Our aim is to have a casual catch up each term as a way of building connections with each other.

Our first catch up this term is on Thursday 2nd May. The coffee van will be out the front of the school, Webster St, at 8:30am. Simply place your order (We're paying!), grab your drink, then come on in to the library for our catch up and to learn more about the School Wide Positive Behaviour program we have begun implementing at our school.

Head lice.

A reminder to check your child's hair regularly and to treat immediately if you find lice or eggs. We have had some reports of head lice this week from our 1/2 classrooms.

Our expected behaviours at Bendigo PS.

It's Walk to School next Friday morning! Hope to see plenty of keen walkers there- students and grown ups!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Warm regards,

Carolyn.
