Visual Arts News
Well, what a fantastic Semester 1 we had and we are very much looking forward to some more amazing Visual Arts experiences in Semester 2.
We will begin Term 3 with NAIDOC Week projects involving pointillism for all year levels.
Foundation: Students will be working on primary and secondary colours, will be making Winter mittens and completing a 'Snowman Collage' project. They will explore patterns about their favourite pet and will use paints to create a simple acorn image.
Years 1 and 2: Students will be making graphic squares using a range of lines and patterns. They will draw upon the work of Kandinsky to make a colourful tree collage and will use paints to create a koala image. They will also apply their design skills to create a fabulous hat.
Years 3 and 4: Students will be completing a project based around the Olympic Games in which they will create a sporting figure in action using a ‘rubbing’ technique. They will continue to work with patterns and lines to create a criss cross geometric image and will work with paints to produce a ‘Bubble Wrap’ print. They will design and create a Rangoli Sun-catcher using cellophane.
Years 5 and 6: Students will be working on an Olympic Games project creating sporty figurine sculptures using aluminium foil. They will produce Winter tree silhouette art using inks and create tiger images using crayons or soft pastels with water colour backgrounds.
