From the Principal
Yesterday at Athol Road PS we celebrated 100 Days of School for our Foundation students. 100 Days of School is a special milestone for our Foundation students, highlighting the progress in their learning and all the different school experiences they have participated in and shared so far. This significant day also highlights the dedication of our Foundation teachers, who have gently guided our students through these first 100 days of school with commitment and enthusiasm. I really enjoyed the high participation and big smiles from all the students and parents, making the occasion truly special. I was particularly proud of our Year 5 student buddies, who presented their Foundation buddies with a very special 100 Days of School medal, reinforcing the strong sense of connectedness and unity within our school. This celebration is a remarkable achievement for our young learners and acknowledges the hard work and dedication of our Foundation staff, whose efforts have made these 100 days of learning meaningful and enjoyable for all the students. It is a testament to the vibrancy and collaborative spirit of our school community and the ongoing journey of growth and discovery.
Tomorrow is our 2024 Olympics Day Celebration. We are all looking forward to a fun filled day with lots of team spirit and cheering. Students are asked to dress in their House Colours (Blue, Red, Yellow or Green) and wear their runners/sneakers as the day will involve outdoor sports and athletic activities. There will be an opening ceremony in the hall at 9.15am, followed by Olympic activities in the learning spaces. The outdoor athletic events will be held after recess on the front oval and there will be a closing ceremony in the hall at 2.45pm. Parents and carers are welcome to attend and join in the fun. School will finish as usual at 3.30pm.
Tomorrow is also our Pizza Day Lunch and we have had a huge interest with so many online orders via Sentral. If you missed out this time, don't worry, there will be another special lunch coming later in Term 3. Thank you to Mrs Emma Pearse and the office staff for organising the Pizza Lunch to help celebrate our Olympics Day and make it extra special for the students.
Next Friday, 9th August is ARPS' GOT TALENT. Miss Brewer has been busy running auditions all week and it looks like we have some amazing talent to showcase at ARPS.
Parents are welcome to attend and be part of the audience. The talent show will be in the school hall from 1.45pm - 3.30pm. We are also looking for 2 parent representatives to be on the panel of judges. If you do not have a child performing in the show and you would like to be a judge, please contact the school office and register your interest.
