PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

The Moorabbin Primary School Community touch the land and think of the Bunurong People and surrounding Clans of the Kulin Nation who cared for the land before us.

We share our gratitude to their Elders past, present and emerging.  As we touch this land, we promise to treasure it, taking care of all its people, animals, plants and waterways. We at Moorabbin Primary School appreciate this land. Thank you.

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy and eventful week we have had this week!  Some of our grade 5/6’s took part in the Division T-ball on Tuesday, our grade 1’s visited Twisted Science where the explored how things work, move and feel to support what they have already been learning in Science with Professor Mouncer!

On Thursday the Preps celebrated their 100th day of school.  It is hard to believe that it has been 100 days already and I am sure that you will agree with me when we reflect upon how much they have learnt and grown since the start of the year.  It was amazing to see all of the children dressed up as older versions of themselves and I particularly loved the inflatable zimmer frames that some of the children had on the day!!

This week Karmen and I have been busy ordering TV’s, phones and furniture for the new building ready for when the students move in.  Mr Leeden and I had a sneaky tour after school yesterday and it is very exciting to see it so close to being finished and almost ready for students to start using. On Saturday August 10th we will be holding a working bee to move furniture from the current classrooms into the new build.  Thank you to all the families that have signed up to help out.  If you haven’t yet signed up then please do so even if it is for an hour.  Please note that there will be no children at the working bee.

We are still accepting enrolments for 2025.  If you know of anyone that hasn’t yet enrolled for 2025 can you please ask them to contact the office or you can find the enrolment form via the link below:

If you will not be returning to Moorabbin Primary School in 2025 can you please let either myself, Mrs Angelides or the office now as we are beginning to organise our staffing structure for 2025.

Next Friday the 5/6 students and teacher have organised the ‘MPS Mini Olympics’.  There will be a series of events that the children will be taking part in.  This is a fun event for all of the children to take part in.  The session times are as follows :

Session 1: Grade 5/6 students will participate with their Foundation buddies from   9:00 am to 10:40 am.

Session 2: Grade 1 and 2 students will compete from 11:10 am to 12:50 pm.

Session 3: Grade 3 and 4 students will join the fun from 1:50 pm to 3:25 pm.

It would be lovely to have some of our parents cheering on the students on the day!  You will find a map with designated Parent viewing areas included in the newsletter.

Next week we welcome Mrs Angelides back after her holiday to Greece! I am sure that she will have a pleasant surprise when she sees how far the new building has come along and all the landscaping that has taken place.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Leeden, all the staff and parents for their support the last 3 weeks while Noxia has been away.
