Assistant Principals' Report

Uniform

Thank you to all students who have been wearing their uniforms correctly and with pride. We are asking for your support in ensuring that students are wearing the correct uniform each day.

Our main issues continue to be:

  • Students wearing hoodies. This is not a part of our uniform range. Parent notes saying that they are okay with a student wearing a hoodie will not be accepted.
  • Students wearing black undershirts that are visible. They may wear HGC outwear items, such as the rugby jumper/spray jacket or shell jacket with PE, and also purple jumper/shell jacket or blazer with their academic uniform but should not be just in a black undershirt with long sleeves that is visible.
  • Students are wearing street shoes i.e. Converse or Vans. These do not meet the criteria as a leather lace-up with the academic uniform or the runners that are expected for PE. Nike Air Force shoes are also not appropriate footwear for PE. Please speak to Year Level Leadership if you have any questions.
  • Students in PE uniform on Non-PE days. Students in Years 6-10 have designated days for their PE or Sport classes/electives. If they do not have that particular subject, then they should not be in a PE uniform.

Timeout Tuesdays

We're thrilled to announce the launch of "Timeout Tuesdays" for our Year 12 students. Starting this week, Timeout Tuesdays will provide a dedicated space for our Senior Students to unwind, recharge, and support each other during what can be a challenging year.

Timeout Tuesdays will be held at lunchtime and will feature a variety of activities designed to promote mental health and reduce stress. Our goal is to foster a supportive community where students feel valued and encouraged while they take time to unwind and connect. By prioritizing both their academic and emotional needs, we aim to empower them to excel in their final year and beyond.

Year 10 Formal

It is with great excitement that we invite all Year 10 students to attend this special evening on Friday 16 August from 7:00 pm at The Manor on High in Epping. The night will include a three-course dinner, a DJ and a photo booth. It provides the opportunity for our students to reflect on the year so far and the connections and relationships they have developed with staff and peers. We look forward to celebrating this evening with you and hope this will be a night to remember!
