Head of Secondary Years' Report

Welcome back to Term 3!

We certainly hope that you all enjoyed the holidays and were able to find time to relax and re-charge.

There is no double that the cooler weather has arrived and we encourage students to ensure that they wear enough layers of their uniform to keep warm. You will find more reminders about uniforms in the Assistant Principal section of this newsletter.

During the first two weeks at school, we held an assembly for each year level. During these assemblies, we have had the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the Academic Endeavour Awards in each subject from Semester One.

These awards acknowledged students who have demonstrated outstanding effort and improvement to achieve their personal best. These are students who work hard, complete tasks and receive good results. A student who receives an Academic Excellence Award is ineligible for the Academic Endeavor Award. Congratulations to all of our award recipients.

Today you will have received an email link to a survey about our camps program. We believe camps are an important aspect of school life and something we certainly want to continue to include in our programs. Due to changes in the uptake of camps in recent years, we want to ensure we are running a program that meets the needs of our students and their families to ensure maximum participation. Please take the time to complete the survey so that it can assist with our planning for 2025 and beyond.  There is a QR code below that will link to the survey.

During the first 2 weeks of term, all students in Years 8-11 have begun the subject selection process for 2025. I really encourage families to carefully read all correspondence regarding subject selection and ensure that your child meets the required deadlines.

There is often a lot of information provided to support students in making informed choices, so it is important that families make time to sit down and review this information to support their decisions. I would also like to remind all Year 10 families to book in for the course counselling sessions next week and don't forget to come and visit our Career Expo on 30th of July!

Our production of Mary Poppins is set to be nothing short of spectacular. The production will run from Thursday 29th August to Friday 30th August for three amazing performances. Be sure to snap up your tickets, which will go on sale Monday 29th July.
