The students are enjoying participating in lots of experiences to help them learn about Procedural writing. Some experiences have included following steps to a guided drawing, making origami, and also making chocolate milk, fairy bread and even popcorn. I'm sure the students enjoyed doing the tasting just as much as they have enjoyed completing the writing.

During our Reading sessions, the students have incorporated their new knowledge of procedures to follow instructions to complete their work. We have also been exploring the authors purpose which we have learnt it is easy as P.I.E (Persuade, Inform, Entertain).

In Numeracy, we have worked hard on developing our understanding of multiplication by exploring how to complete equations using arrays, making groups, repeated addition, drawing pictures, completing worded problems and practising our skip counting. We have also learnt about the commutative law and how this might help us in solving equations.
Can you work out the equation for this array?

Developing a Growth Mind Set is important in our learning. We have discovered that just because we can't do something doesn't mean we will never be able to, it just means we can't

do it 'YET!'
By using the word yet it means I haven't achieved this goal yet. Maybe it's because I haven't learnt that skill, I'm still too young or I still need to practise a skill more.
"I can't drive a car, YET!" (I'm still too young)
"I can't tie my shoe laces, YET" (I still need to practise)
"I can't tell quarter past time, YET" (I haven't learnt that skill)
