Our Year 12B’s made it through to the Semi Final round vs McAuley Catholic College last Friday. Unfortunately, they did not proceed through to the Grand Final this Friday, but out of the 90 teams in their division they made it into the top four, and this is a fantastic achievement.

Congratulations again to Jose Monk, James Leo and Harry Feehan for this season!

Mrs Leigha Zervakos - Debating & Public Speaking Convenor

Football

Congratulations to all teams on their return to the football season.  The early morning rain, with lightning and thunder, tried to spoil the party, but it was great to have all fixtures played. Congratulations to the 1st XI for their dominant 13-0 victory, but also a big congratulations to our 14C for scoring their first 2 goals for the season in their best performance this season.

Thank you to the Football Supporter's Club and all the volunteers who helped out at the BBQ and Bake sale, it will be running again this weekend.  Please click the link to assist with the BBQ/Bake Sale -  https://signup.com/go/AOwNjhj

Rugby

It was a mixed week of results against rivals St Patrick’s Strathfield.  There were some great wins, particularly in the Open’s age group with the 1sts and 3rds dominating their opponents. This weekend sees unmatched fixtures across multiple locations so please check Clipboard and Woodchatta carefully.

SPX Rugby Club

Rugby Gala Dinner

Thank you to those who attended the SPX Rugby Gala Dinner last Saturday night.   It was great to see everyone support the fundraising activities, have a dance, catchup with friends and celebrate our boys on the big screen. Nick Farr-Jones happily interacted with guests and signed many of the rugby balls for a special keepsake.

Thank you to all attendees and non-attendees who got involved and made purchases via the Galabid Silent auction – it was a SUCCESS!  Items that could not be taken home are available for pickup from the school office.  Those that bought the firepits will be contacted directly to make alternate arrangements.

Stay tuned for the evening results which will be updated via the SPX Rugby WhatsApp chat.

Check out some of the photos captured during the evening.

Please direct any enquiries to spxrugby@gmail.com.

ISA Tennis

Unfortunately, Tennis was cancelled once again due to the rain last weekend. I must, however, commend the students for their wonderful attitude during training as they returned to Term 3.

As we approach the final two weeks of the season, I would like to take a moment to wish our Year 12 students the best of luck as they begin their exam preparations for Week 3.

I spoke with the students in Year 8 and reminded them that they are still expected to play Tennis on Saturday unless they are injured at the ski trip.

I sincerely hope that the weather remains clear for our upcoming fixtures this week.

  • Division 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 – against St Patrick's College, Strathfield – 7:45 am start at Talus St, St Leonards.
  • Division 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 – also against St Patrick's College, Strathfield – 7:45 am starts at Strathfield Sporting Club.
  • Development Blue and Gold – at Oxford Falls Campus – 9:45 am.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
