School Sports - What's Happening
NETBALL - GIRLS
On Wednesday 24th July, Kelsee, Anikah, Lacey, Bella, Maddie, Lucy, Summer, Georgia, Jayde and Bella went to the school netball carnival. The girls represented the school amazingly at the Red Energy Arena and won 4 games, tied 1 game and lost 2.
We arrived at the Red Energy Arena, went to the courts and put our bags down. We went to our first game and we played White Hills Primary School. It was a good game and we fortunately won. The second game was against Spring Gully Primary School, we tied with them. Then we played Marist. Next we versed St. Thereses and we won. After that we played against Strathfieldsaye and unfortunately we lost. After that it was time for us to play against Boort, we won. For our last game we played St. Killians.
After that we packed up our stuff and met the boys to watch their last game. After that, it was time to head back to school. The day at netball was fun and we all had a great time. At the end of the day we hopped on the bus and we were exhausted. We were on the bus and nearly going to sleep.
We thank Mrs DeAraugo and Miss Spence for coaching our teams and we also thank Miss Batemen and Bella's friend Indi for umpiring. If it wasn't for our amazing coaches, helpers and umpires we wouldn't have done as well as we did.

NETBALL - BOYS
On the day of the netball carnival at Red Energy Arena, Kyan, Henry, Jensen, Preston, Gus, Riley, Blake, Liam, and Tom played 6 games and won 3 of them.
The first few games we played, Mrs DeAraugo got us to play different positions to figure out where we play best. We came up against a few tough teams like St. Therese’s, St. Killians and Strathfieldsaye. We tried our best against those teams but they were just too good for us. There was one big break in the middle for us because we had the bye that lasted for 45 minutes including the breaks we had in between every game. We got to go to the canteen in the big break and we got to watch the girls play. Overall all of us boys had fun throughout the whole day and we loved being coached by Mrs DeAraugo.

- We have been lucky enough to have CMC students assist at each event on the day.
- Your child is asked to wear their house colours for the day. If you are unsure of what your child’s colour is, please see your classroom teacher.
- Students need to bring a hat, water bottle and food for the day.
- There will be no school canteen (lunch orders) on this day
* Please sign and check your child's PAM note and refer to this for any further information.
The next level is the Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival, which will be held on Wednesday 21st August at the Flora Hill Athletics Track. Students in Grades 3 to 6 will be notified if they make this event. Please note that 9yr old students can only make it through in shot put, long jump, hurdles and 100m. Students finishing 1st & 2nd in each event will be offered a spot in those events for the Catholic Schools Carnival. However, each student can only compete in 3 individual events. Should they qualify for more than 3, they will have to choose their preferred events and then the spot is offered to the next highest finishing student.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
