Our Updated Behaviour Matrix

Gallery Image

You may have noticed the above display around the school and in your child's classroom. This is our SWPBS (School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support) Behaviour Matrix - a shared guide to the behaviours and expectations that help our school community feel safe, respectful, and ready to learn. The matrix outlines what these expectations look like across different areas of the school so students have a clear, consistent understanding of what is expected.

As part of our ongoing work to strengthen SWPBS across the school, we recently refined the language and layout to ensure the expectations are clear, practical and meaningful for students, staff and families. This helps us teach, model and reinforce positive behaviour in a consistent way every day.

Our three core expectations apply everywhere - inside, outside, and across all settings:

  • Be Respectful: Using manners, kind words, and taking turns; using an appropriate voice inside; and playing fairly and keeping our grounds tidy outside.
  • Be Safe: Using our bodies and equipment appropriately, following instructions, staying in designated areas, walking inside, and always seeking permission to enter or leave a learning space.
  • Be a Learner: Asking for help when needed, and following classroom expectations to make the most of every learning opportunity.

Alongside the whole-school matrix, each classroom has developed their own matrix that sets out the specific expectations for their learning space. Over recent weeks, teachers have developed and shared lesson plans so that every student from Prep to Year 6 has had the chance to learn, discuss, and practise these expectations in real situations.

We encourage you to chat with your child about our three expectations and ask them how these are show during the school day. The more we reinforce these messages at home and at school together, the stronger our community becomes.

Together, we're building a school where everyone feels respected, safe, and ready to learn. 💛

School Council Announcement

We are pleased to announce that we have received three School Council parent nominations to fill the four vacant positions in this category.

We welcome to School Council:

  • Karen Anderson (returning member)
  • Sarah Robinson
  • Ashleigh Perrin

Continuing members in the parent category are Ainsley Drummond and Simone Cutting.

We extend our sincere thanks to our retiring parent members, Lisa Castles and Anna White, for their contributions over the time they have been active and supportive members of Council. Lisa Castles has filled the position of School Council President for several years now and her leadership, characterised by kindness and a genuine desire to ensure School Council is representing our school community's views, has been invaluable.

There is still one (1) two-year spot available and nominations will remain open until 5:00 pm on Friday 27th February.

Special Assembly - Friday March 6th

We would like to ensure that our school community is aware that Friday 6th March will be a special assembly where all student leaders will be presented with their badges.

The assembly time will be at 2:45 pm and as always, we would love to see our community in attendance. Please join us as we recognise the children that have stepped up into the role of leadership within our school.
