What a week it has been! The weather certainly kept us guessing, but it was wonderful to finish with a burst of sunshine to lift everyone’s spirits. Highlights included our whole-school AUSLAN incursion, which further strengthened our commitment to inclusive communication at Golf Links. Providing all students with opportunities to learn AUSLAN not only supports our Deaf Hub, but also reflects our values of Respect and Kindness, ensuring every child has the tools to connect, communicate and belong within our community.

Cyber Safety Parent Information Session

As a school community, we know that navigating the online world with children can feel complex and, at times, overwhelming. Social media, gaming, messaging platforms and emerging technologies are evolving rapidly, and it is essential that we work together to ensure our children are safe, informed and empowered digital citizens.

On Monday 2nd March at 6:00pm, we are hosting a Cybersafety Parent Information Session facilitated by EVOLVE. We strongly encourage all families to attend. EVOLVE’s sessions have consistently received outstanding feedback from our community, with parents describing them as practical, relevant and immediately useful.

This session will provide clear guidance on:

  • Current online trends and risks
  • Practical strategies to support safe device use at home
  • How to have proactive, protective conversations with your child
  • The shared role of families and schools in keeping children safe

When school and home work in partnership, our children are better supported to make safe and responsible choices online.

We highly recommend prioritising this evening. Your attendance will make a difference.

Curriculum Day & Labour Day Public Holiday Reminder

A reminder to families that Monday 9 March is the Labour Day public holiday and students will not be required at school.

In addition, Tuesday 10 March is a Curriculum Day, providing students with an extended weekend. On this day, our staff will be participating in professional learning focused on the Hochman Method, strengthening our explicit approach to writing instruction, and continuing our work with VTLM 2.0 to further enhance classroom practice across the school.

For families requiring care on Tuesday 10 March, Camp Australia will be operating a holiday program. Please ensure you book in advance if this service is required.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.
