At Skye Primary School, our positive behaviour acknowledgement system, Class Dojo, is directly linked to our School-Wide Expected Behaviours. Dojo points are not given randomly. They are awarded when students demonstrate one of our explicitly taught expected behaviours in action, whether that’s listening attentively, showing persistence, supporting a classmate, or following instructions straight away.
Research consistently shows that when positive behaviour is recognised and reinforced, it is more likely to be repeated. Public acknowledgement:
When a student earns a Dojo point, it doesn’t just impact them, it positively influences the whole class. Students begin to notice and value the behaviours that help everyone learn and feel safe.

Students accumulate points that contribute toward Bronze, Silver and Gold status. They then 'redeem' their points for a reward of their choice. These milestones are designed to:
Importantly, this system aligns with our whole-school approach where social and emotional skills are explicitly taught, modelled and reinforced, just like academic skills.
We encourage all families to enrol in your child’s Class Dojo class so you can receive updates when your child earns points. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate positive choices at home and continue the conversation about our school values.
If you need support accessing Class Dojo, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.
Together, by recognising and reinforcing positive behaviours, we strengthen the respectful, responsible, resilient and connected culture we are proud of at Skye PS.
