Welcome & Important Dates

A warm welcome to the 2026 school year!
We would like to welcome existing families back to our school and extend a warm welcome to the new families of the Glen Waverley Primary School community. It has been a phenomenal start to the year with our learner's demonstrating curiosity and enthusiasm, while settling into their orderly learning spaces.
At the forefront of our learning and teaching, we are sure to have a fantastic term ahead. Please take a few moments to read what we have planned for this exciting term.
Hats – As we are a Sun Smart school, hats must be always worn when the students are outside during Term One.
We thank you for your ongoing support and assistance. We are looking forward to a wonderful year.

(Teaching & Learning Leader)
(Learning Specialist – Assessment & Reporting)
Greetings!
I have been a teacher for 13 years and this is my 12th year at Glen Waverley Primary School. I am excited to be teaching Year 5 this year for the 3rd consecutive years. I love being part of children’s learning and growth journey, particularly in Year 5 where children step up more to become school leaders. I enjoy watching and playing tennis, watching movies and cooking (and of course eating!). I am looking forward to a wonderful year full of learning, laughter and memories.
Mrs Parveen Kaur (5B)
(Assistant Teaching & Learning Leader)
Hello, Year 5 families,
My name is Parveen and I’m excited to be teaching Year 5 in 2026. This will be my fourth year at GWPS, and I continue to feel very proud to be part of this community. Prior to GWPS, I taught in Melbourne’s west for 15 years. I love teaching in upper school as I enjoy conversations, questions, and building strong relationships with my students. Outside the classroom, you’ll usually find me with a good coffee in hand. I also love travelling and unwinding at the hot springs whenever I get the chance. I’m really looking forward to a positive, engaging, and memorable year ahead with your child.
Mr Alex Rowland (5C)
I am so excited to begin my third-year teaching at GWPS and take on the new challenge of teaching Year 5. Over the previous two years I have been teaching Year One and Year Four which has prepared me with lots of different skills that will help me support, nurture and extend the students. In my free time I love spending time with my wife and two children, playing and watching sport as well as spending time outside. I am looking forward to continuing to build on the connections I have already made with this cohort from last year and to forming new connections.
Mrs Nicole MacPhie (5D)
Hello, Year 5 families,
I am extremely excited to be teaching Year 5 in 2026. This is my second year at Glen Waverley Primary School, and I feel very privileged to be part of the Glen Waverley School community. I have been teaching for 10 years, with students from Year 1 to Year 5. This year, I am feeling fortunate as I continue the learning journey with your children.
On the weekends you will often find me curled up with a good book, watching my husband or any of my three children playing hockey. I also love cooking and laughing with friends and family at every opportunity possible.
I am looking forward to reconnecting with families from 2025 and creating connections with new students and families this year.
Miss Celeste Bayly (5E)
I have been a Primary Teacher for five years and this is my fourth year at Glen Waverley Primary School. I love to participate in many creative activities including dancing, cheerleading, and musical productions. I have been involved with the Victorian State School Spectacular Dance program for two years now and am excited to continue that program this year. Some more hobbies I enjoy are reading books, watching movies and spending time with friends and family on the weekends. I am very excited to support the Year 5 team this year on all of their adventures.
Miss Caitlin Cameron (5F)
Hello, Year 5 families!
My name is Caitlin and I’m so excited to be joining the GWPS staff this year after finishing studying, and I’m thrilled to be teaching alongside the amazing year 5 team this year. I love creating a positive, supportive classroom where students feel confident learning and trying new things. Before school, I love to start my mornings with a hot chocolate and some good music! I can’t wait to have new experiences alongside such amazing students and staff this year, and I’m really looking forward to a fun and rewarding year together.
