Year 3 

Spotlight on Learning

                                     Our Week 3 Focuses:

Religious Education: We created class Prayer mats and continued our journey of discovery through Reconciliation and Grace. 

Grade 3's went to their first Mass and were praised for their reverence, responses and particularly the great answers to Father Jithin.

English: We have continued to read the Narrative story 'Matilda' by Roald Dahl. 

This week we have been introduced to Miss Trunchball: a mean, arrogant and thoughtless woman and Miss Honey: a kind, resilient and determined lady. 

We concentrated on Sentence Types:

Mathematics: We have continued to focus on Place Value using 6 digit numbers and writing the number in words.

The Grade 3's also began to explore 'greater than' and 'less than'

Auslan: We have been practicing using facial expressions to show our feelings in Auslan and understanding that changing our facial expressions can change the meaning of the sign. Next week we will focus on how to ask a question using Auslan signs in the correct order.
