Grade 5/6 Media Arts
In Grade 5/6 media arts we are exploring ways that media is used to communicate ideas, perspectives and meaning across different contexts.
To compliment this Semester's learning in Geography we analysed a range of travel advertisements to see what ideas were being shared about that country, and also what perspectives or values we can interpret as being important to that country.
Given this is the second year of Media Arts for Grade 5s, they are currently undertaking a very important commission from our school leadership team. They have been asked to design silhouette art works to reflect the Stations of the Cross.
The designs which best represents the scripture will be chosen to be printed on banners. The banners will be an important feature of Holy Week when our students participate in a prayerful journey through the Stations of the Cross.
Our Grade 6 students are having their first year of media arts learning, and spent this week exploring the tools available to them on Canva, a platform we utilise for building graphic design skills. Please enjoy a sample of their work below.
