In P.E, Junior students have looked at the fundamental movement skills that are used within cricket. Students have practised their overhand throwing, striking and catching by participating in minor games such as clean your backyard and pairs fielding.
Senior students have begin learning about striking and fielding games and what each teams purpose is when playing. Students have identified strategies that stop their teams from scoring when they are fielding and how to score more runs when they are striking.
In Art, students have investigated the performing arts, specifically dance and music. Senior students investigated ATSI tribes and the dances they perform, as well as why it is significant to a specific tribe. In music, students spoke about their preferences for music and discussed what it is they enjoy about their favourite songs.
Junior students listed daily tasks and identified some movements they might do when completing them. In their groups, students then created movement sequences to go with activities such as going to the pool and going camping. Students have also looked at how music can have different tempos and is created for different purposes. Once we understood what type of movements match the music, we continued to let our creative juices flow and made some dance sequences for fast and slow music.
