Dear Families,

Day for Daniel is held annually in memory of Daniel Morcombe, a young boy from Queensland who went missing. Daniel’s family now work through the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to help children all around Australia learn about safety and to support schools with child safety education.

On Friday 31st October, our school will be recognising Day for Daniel. This special day helps us learn about keeping children safe and reminds everyone about the importance of talking to trusted adults if they ever feel worried or unsure.

In the lead-up to Day for Daniel, the children have been learning about child safety during their Wellbeing and SEL lessons. These lessons help students understand how to stay safe, recognise safe and unsafe situations, be aware of their body clues and know who they can go to for help.

for help.

To show our support for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, we invite all students to wear a splash of red with their school uniform on the day. This could be something simple like:

A red T-shirt or jumper

A red ribbon or scrunchie

Red socks, shoes, or hat

Together, we can help children feel safe, strong, and supported every day. Let’s all join in to promote the Child Safety message.
