Now it's back to work.
In maths we have started the term off with some good old fractions. Here are a couple of jokes to get you excited.

Not very funny I know but we have been having some fun with fractions. We made posters to show that fractions are equal parts of a whole and are now learning to write fractions, make fractions and solve fractions of a collection.

In writing in theis term we revisit imaginative texts and focus on the traits of good writing. This week we have been building our vocabulary and are trying to use greater detail and description in our writing. Our aim is to paint an image in the reader's mind with our words. How do you think Elton is going?

As I walked along the rough gravel path, cascades of firery colored leaves fell everywhere. Week rays of sunshine struggle to make their way through the damp canopy of the forest. As the birds chirped I smelt the sweet aroma of sap trickling slowly down the trees. It was a calm, peaceful Autumn day so I sat down under a tree and ate my sandwich.
Next week we will look at simili's and other literary devices to help improve our writing.
Thanks everyone
Have a great weekend.
