Salvation Army

Each year, Saints men take to the streets of Brinsmead door knocking, to collect money for The Salvation Army who support those doing it tough. The Salvos aim to spread the love of Jesus, which they do through a variety of services, including financial, drug and alcohol, and domestic violence support. They also have an op shop that offers reduced prices on used items. We will be volunteering to help on Sunday 26 May meeting at the College at 7.45am.

Rosies

St Augustine’s and St Monica’s will hold a combined Ride for Rosies on Friday 31 May, organised by Mr Elliott and Mrs Milne. Riders are asking people to pledge a donation for each lap they complete.

Meanwhile, thank you to all the boys who have been helping with Rosies this year. Two teams generously gave up two hours each on the holidays to help provide for people less fortunate; a great effort! Here are what some of the boys had to say:

“It is truly wonderful to see that there is support for those who need it most, the people who's lives have fallen apart for many different reasons.”

“It's inspiring to witness people taking an active role to combat an issue in our community.”

“It was great to see how Rosie's volunteers spoke to the patrons like old friends and genuinely cared about their wellbeing.”

Relay for Life

Save the date! Relay for Life is happening on Saturday 13 July, at the end of Week 1 next term. Fundraising initiatives at school will begin later this term, but keep an eye out for opportunities to raise money for the Cancer Council.

MAPS - Final Words

It would be remiss of me to not again thank the College's amazing fundraising effort for the 2024 MAPS appeal. Last term, we raised $12,300 for the Lavalla school in Cambodia. Mr Churchward’s homeroom in the junior school and Mr Brimstone’s homeroom in the senior school were the highest fundraisers; an incredible feat which will be sure to change many lives.
