The Arts are Alive at Saints

Visual arts news

Following the success of last year's Griffith University workshops, Saints will again participate in this exceptional opportunity. Ms Almond has nominated and entered students into the Griffith University school program for 2024. There will be a cost to parents of approximately $300 for the weekend workshops. Students will work with university lecturers and collaborate with other art students from Cairns. The workshops usually occur from a Friday evening through till Sunday afternoon. Ms Almond has also applied for some funded positions to assist our families. We hope to hear from the university soon to see if we were successful.

Receive>Respond will open on 31 May at the Tanks. Two of our students have been accepted for this event. This is a fantastic opportunity to view how our students experience the world around them. More information will come out soon.

Film and TV news

Soon our annual junior competition School Shorts will be advertised for students to nominate. They will have to get into groups and attend meetings with their senior film and TV student mentors. Students will also need to listen to morning notices and stay tuned in assembly to hear when the sign up will occur.

Drama news

Ms Ballard is finalising her directing for our fantastic musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This show will be fantastic! So please purchase your tickets before they are sold out. This is expected to be one of the greatest combined musicals that St Monica's and St Augustine's have produced. The dancing, the singing, the acting are absolutely outstanding. Don't miss out!
